Pinnacle Movie Prints is a digital platform for discovering and collecting movie posters from films across different genres, countries, and eras. I designed a poster-first browsing experience that enables users to search, filter, and curate personalized collections, making it easier to explore cinematic history through visual storytelling.
Initial Website Functions
The platform was initially envisioned as a curated gallery for users to explore movie posters, view film details, and seamlessly build their own collection walls.
Poster Gallery

Display thumbnails of all posters.
Sort them by various criteria (e.g., Name, Year, Sight & Sound’s Ranking).
Poster Detail

View detailed film information (title, release year, duration, director, etc.)
Add the poster to My Favorites collection or download it.
My Favorites

Store and manage the movie posters added to My Favorites collection.
Create Your Gallery

Add posters and create your own poster gallery based on personal preferences.

High-Fi Version 2:Card Stack

Usability Testing
Most people voted for Version 1: Grid layout.

Usability Testing Feedback
Expand Platform Architecture: Introduce core pages, such as a Home/Intro page and an Account page.
Enhance Detail Page Interaction: Improve scrollability with clear visual cues.
Address User Habits: Modify the stacked-card design, as it does not align well with users’ mental models.
Feature prioritization
Based on user value and implementation cost, three core features were retained, while Create Your Gallery was deprioritized.

Trade-Offs
Some pages were simplified and restructured to preserve the core experience within project constraints.
Main Gallery
Color Sorting has been removed, and the new linked features are My Favorites, Sort By, Seen Before, and About.
